CHALLENGE COIN VANISH
EFFECT: The magician displays a coin and places it in a fold of cloth
on the leg of his trousers. A member of the audience is allowed to feel the coin to see if
it is still there. Yet, under these seemingly impossible circumstances, the coin vanishes
completely.
| SECRET AND
PREPARATION: (A) Place a
"duplicate" of the coin you intend to vanish in your right trouser pocket. |
 |
METHOD:
METHOD Proceed exactly as in the COIN THROUGH LEG,
through Step 5. |
| 1. However, when you
place the coin which will vanish on your leg in Step 1 this time position it directly
above the "secret" duplicate coin in your right pants pocket. NOTE: Because of
the location of the duplicate coin in your pocket, it will be necessary to place the
"vanishing" coin slightly higher 0/7 your pants leg than in the COIN THROUGH
LEG. |
 |
2. Now, when you fold the cloth up around the coin, make sure that the duplicate
coin is in the fold of cloth ON TOP OF THE COIN WHICH WILL VANISH. |
 |
3. NOTE: You now have the real coin, the one that the audience knows about,
under the duplicate coin, which is really in your right trouser pocket.
|
 |
4. Now proceed to "steal" the coin away in the FINGER PALM position as
explained in Step 6 in COIN THROUGH LEG. |
|
5. Ask the spectator to feel and see if the coin is still there. When he does, he
will feel the duplicate coin which is in your pocket. THIS GIVES YOU IDEAL "MISDIRECTION" TO SECRETLY DROP THE FINGER PALMED COIN INTO
YOUR RIGHT COAT POCKET. |
|
6. After the spectator is satisfied that the coin is still there, merely let the
fold of cloth drop as before. You may then show both hands to be completely empty. The
coin has vanished. |
